Location: North Sea, Dutch Sector Block L6
Year executed: 2014
The L6-B platform is a minimum facility platform developed and constructed for Wintershall using the SPT Offshore’s proprietary SIP-1 concept. The platform is designed for installation in one piece, which resulted in a mobilisation, installation and demobilisation in only three days. The verticality of the structure is within 0.01 degrees achieved by individual and proportional suction on each of the suction piles.
The SPT design scope for this project was restricted to the geotechnical and structural design of the suction piles of the wellhead platform including the determination of the stress concentration factors for fatigue analysis. IvOG performed the overall design of the platform. SPT acted as subcontractor of IvOG. The scope cut-off line with the IvOG wellhead platform design is located 1.0 m above mud level (interface point).
