For a platform extension of 1,500t, Talisman decided to use SPT Offshore’s Self Installing Monopiles (SIMs), a cost efficient and low impact platform extension founded on 2 suction pile based monopods. A critical EPCI schedule of 4 months was met. Because of the suction pile foundation, no driving required next to an operational platform was required, eliminating the risk of damage to the existing facilites.
