The Ørsted Borkum Riffgrund Wind Turbine is the first wind turbine jacket founded on suction piles installed worldwide. This demonstrator jacket has full approval of the German BSH, which are regarded to follow the strictest regulations worldwide. SPT Offshore has ensured a successful installation of the Suction Pile Jacket through an anti-scour preinstalled filer layer.
The Suction pile jacket project is developed under the existing BKR01 project. The location of the Borkum Riffgrund Offshore Wind Farm (BKR01), is approximately 40km North-North-West of the German island Borkum. The entire Borkum Riffgrund site is formally split into two parks Borkum Riffgrund 1 (BKR01) and Borkum Riffgrund 2 (BKR02).
