For the Ophir wellhead platform from Muhibbah Engineering (M) Bhd,SPT Offshore realised the detailed design of the suction pile foundation, the design supervision of the jacket and full transportation and installation (T&I) of the platform.
The jacket with integrated suction pile foundation is installed in one piece offshore, which made a safe and swift offshore execution possible.
The 350mT topsides on a tri-legged jacket with a suction pile foundation is fabricated at Muhibbah’s fabrication yard in port Klang. wo transport barges transported the 3-legged suction pile Jacket, boatlanding and topside to the Ophir installation site 200km offshore of Malaysia.
After start of the installation of the jacket on the early morning of the 9th of April, the boatlanding was lifted on the next day. Subsequently, the topside was immediately lifted and placed on the jacket within a few hours on the 11th, completing this 3 lift offshore operation within a record breaking 72 hours.
