Ithaca Energy UK  Ltd. Installed a minimum facility satellite platform for the Jacky Field development (formerly known as Beatrice Alpha North) in Block 12/21c located in 40 m water depth approximately 5 km north west of the Beatrice B platform. The platform is a Not Normally Manned Installation and is remotely controlled from Beatrice Alpha.

As the main contractor for the platform fabrication and installation, HSM subcontracted part of the engineering, fabrication and installation scope to IV Oil&Gas and SPT Offshore.

The SPT design scope for this project was restricted to the geotechnical and structural design of the suction piles. The scope cut-off line with the IV platform design is located 300 mm above the connection of the upper flange of the suction pile girders to the 1.7 m diameter stub.

With SPT Offshore’s proprietary SIP-1 design, a critical EPCI schedule of 9 months was met. The SIP-1 substructure was docked over an existing well, making pre-drilling also a feasible option for a SIP-1.
