China Oil and Offshore Engineering Company Limited (COOEC) installed the met mast tripod structure founded on suction piles off the coast of Hong Kong, approximately 9 km East of Clearwater Bay Peninsula. SPT Offshore, subcontractor for COOEC, performed the suction operation.
The met mast will be used to measure environmental data, such as wind, waves and current, which will be used for a future wind farm consisting of 67 turbines.
