For Allseas Deepwater Contractors, SPT Offshore successfully installed its rental suction pile of 3.4m OD x 10m deep. The pile is used as a start-up pile to initiate the deepwater 4×10” and 3×4.5” pipelay operations from Allseas Audacia in up to 1500 m water depth. SPT used its SAPS003 suction pump & lift tool, which is able to provide a flow of 300 m3/hr and a lift capacity of 90 mt. The suction pile will be relocated and reinstalled six (6) times to act as a temporary anchor instead of using a regular anchor.
