2020 was a remarkable year for SPT Offshore in many ways. We solved challenges, explored new opportunities and together with our partners we shared successes on projects worldwide.
We expanded our suction pump fleet by building 4 new SAPS-007S suction pump units, based on the existing SAPS-007 suction pump units. The SAPS-007S suction pump units have increased pumping capacities, for faster and more accurate installations of our suction piles and their foundations. Furthermore, later in the year we ordered 4 more SAPS-007 suction pump units making our total of 25 shallow and deepwater suction pump units. The new units include the latest state-of-the-art suction pump technology.
In the South Chinese Sea, around 200 km from Shenzhen, we successfully installed suction pile foundations for 6 SURFs and 2 PLEMs. The average suction installation time was only 2 hours.
Furthermore, for Jumbo Maritime, we successfully completed the offshore suction installation services of 14 suction piles in the Energean Karish field offshore East Mediterranean.
We successfully installed, for Guangzhou Salvage, the first 3 Suction Pile Jacket in the South Chinese Sea, around 26 km from Yangjiang. These jackets form the foundations for a 300MW Offshore Windfarm.
For our Malaysian client Muhibbah Engineering (M) Bhd and with the support of Asian Lift Pte. Ltd, we completed the installation of the Petrofac ECW-A Jacket and boat-landing at the East Cendor field offshore Malaysia. The installation of the topsides is planned for April 2021.
During an official “cloud signing ceremony” we signed the contract with Fujian Yongfu Power Engineering for a mutual cooperation for the development of the Fujian Changle Waihai Offshore Wind Farm Project also in the Chinese Sea.
We are looking forward to a new year full of activities in China and Malaysia and elsewhere around the globe, exciting projects, new partnerships and turning challenges into opportunities. We wish you all the best for 2021 and stay safe!
