Suction Embedded Anchors (SEA) for Moorings

SPT Offshore can design and fabricate Suction Embedded Anchors (SEAs) for various floating structures and facilites, such as FPSO's, FPU's, SPARSs, SBMs, offloading buoys etc. SPT Offshore installs SEAs and complete mooring lines with a tailored Offshore Construction Vessel (OCV) and/or Anchor Handling Tug (AHT). Alternatively, SPT Offshore also performs suction pile and SEA installation services from Company's vessel(s).

Transportation and installation

  1. Mount suction pile follower on SEA
  2. Dock suction pump onto suction pile follower/SEA assembly
  3. Upend suction pile follower/SEA assembly (if required) and lift into the water
  4. Lower to seabed, position and orientate with ROV
  5. Lower suction pile follower/SEA assembly to self weight penetration
  6. Close vent valve in suction pump and perform suction operation
  7. At target penetration, reverse suction process and retrieve suction pile
  8. SEA opens during retrieval of the suction pile follower
  9. Recover suction pump and suction pile follower to deck
  10. SEA ready for use
